To avoid this, we suggest using a ½ in steel rod to check for rocks or roots and act as a guide during installation.

How is this product installed?
By using an 8-foot-long 2x4 as a lever. If the soil is not well compacted to a depth of 4 feet, it is important to add a 24 in extension. (Pylex product # 10571)

Yes. You can install it in under 2 min with a 1 in socket impact wrench with 1000 ft-lbs of torque and our installation adapter. (Pylex product # 10540)

How much space is required between each pile?
For a porch, we recommend one pile every 8 ft. For load-bearing walls with a roof, one pile every 4 ft.

How can I prevent the helical pile from moving sideways in the ground?
By adding a Pylex Stabilizer. (Pylex product # 10575). Driving the helical pile into the ground may disturb the surrounding soil, but after a few rains, the soil naturally compacts again.

Can I use this product with a 6x6 post?
Yes, the Pylex 50" can be used with a 6x6 post by combining it with the saddle of the Adjustable Deck Support 66 (Pylex product # 12097) or the head of the Adjustable Extendable Deck Support 33-66 (Pylex product # 12098).
